DATA BASIS
Femicide Watch Denmark is an actor independent from the state and therefore does not have the authority to access all information related to every femicide. Our data and statistics are therefore not necessarily exhaustive but paint a general picture of femicide data during the data collection period (from the year 2000 until today).
DEATHS NOT INCLUDED IN THE DATA
- •The killings of women that cannot with certainty or reasonable probability be identified as gender-based
- •The killings of women that could have had a gender-related motive, but where the assumed perpetrator has been acquitted in court
- •The killings of women that could have had a gender-related motive, but to which we have, at this point in time, not been able to gain case access
- •The suspicious deaths of women, where the death cannot with certainty be ruled a killing
- •Women's suicide as a result of gender-based violence
